If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a million times. “There’s SO MANY Real Estate Agents! How am I supposed to choose a good one? Is there such a thing as the Perfect Real Estate Agent for me?”
Yes, Virginia, there really is a great Real Estate Agents out there that is the Perfect fit for you and your unique needs.
Buying or Selling your Home is a monumental event in your life. It should be a fun and exciting adventure, and it will be stressful and slightly confusing. BUT with the right Agent by your side, they will be there for you every step of the way cheering you on, shouldering the tough stuff, explaining the confusing Legal-ese, and negotiating like the Pro that they are to get you the Best Deal and the most Money for your home.
Now I know you’re thinking, “That sounds all fine and dandy, but how do I find the 'Right Agent'?”.
Let’s start with, don’t pick the first one and don’t pick the cheapest one, Pick the Right one.
Start with recommendations from Friends and Family. They know you best, and they probably know or have worked with a great Agent with Local Expertise that they think you’d work well with.
Now take that list of recommendations to the Web. Google, Yelp, Zillow, and Realtor.com will all have a plethora of information on each of them. Read the reviews, check out their social media and visit their website. Eliminate any that you don’t instantly feel good about.
Invite at least 3 local Real Estate Agents to visit with you. Get to know them and let them get to know you and your unique needs. Ultimately, you’re choosing the Person that you’ll be travelling this Momentous Journey with. You want to be sure that you’re comfortable with them, that you feel like you can be honest with them, and that they will be honest with you.
Choose someone that you have a professional chemistry with; someone that you feel will be your Advocate in every instance, and always have your best interests at heart. Your Real Estate Agent should be someone you can trust and depend on, that will work hard for you.
Buying or Selling a home can get complicated. Ask them about their experience, including an overview of their toughest deal. How they relate to previous experience will tell you a lot about not only their business skills, but more importantly, how they handle difficult people and situations. You’ll want to look for an Agent that has a solid support network such as a Team, Broker, or Colleagues that they can and will turn to for help if needed.
Once you’ve visited with and interviewed all of your prospective Agents, take a day to think about it before making your decision. Ultimately, Go with your gut feeling. If it feels right, Usually, it is right.
