Can you believe the holidays are here again already? It feels like it was just yesterday that we sat and watched the Annual Courthouse Lighting? Oh My! There is so much to still do! There are Places to go, Kids are on Break, Shopping needing to get done, Parties to Host, and Pecan Pies to bake.
And of course, get ready for the Family coming in to visit.; and here we are again with the never-ending list of things to do and places to go. (Those Presents aren’t going to wrap themselves!)
In fact, there are so many wonderful things that keep us busy, it’s way too easy to forget the ones that really need and could use a little help.
In All Things, “It is more Blessed to give than to receive”
(Acts 20:35)
Oftentimes we get so wrapped up in our day-to-day hustle and bustle that we forget to slow down and remember what this time of year is all about. It’s about love and giving of ourselves; Giving to others who may not have “enough”. Just to be clear, that doesn’t necessarily mean Money or Stuff. This means our time, our kindness, our love, our helping hands, and our abundance. Not for fame, not for bragging rights, and certainly not for Tik-Tok, but instead to add warmth and put a smile in the Heart of someone that sure could use it.
This Season, let’s all think of Things we can do that would bring Love, light, and happiness to others in need.
While grand gestures are appreciated, small acts of kindness truly can make the world a better place and touch the hearts of many. Simple, everyday kindnesses like a smile, a helping hand, or wishing a passerby a “Merry Christmas” can completely change someone’s Life.
Here’s a few Rock-Solid suggestions in case you need your heart going –
Volunteer at a local care facility, pet shelter, or hospice. After Thanksgiving, write cards or prepare care packages for deployed military heroes. Buy coffee or a meal for a first responder. Provide school supplies to a teacher or school. Mentor someone in your field. Visit a neighbor that might not have any relatives left or close by. Adopt a family with Children in need of a Santa.
No matter what you choose, once you find a cause, action, or organization you want to support, MAKE A DIFFERENCE and be the GIFT. Not just on holidays, but every day, your efforts can make a BIG difference in someone’s life who needs you….
"It’s all about the Journey, Not the Destination. Embrace every moment, learn from every experience, and cherish the memories you create along the way”
